BISHOP MARK CARY
Dr. Mark S. Cary presently serves as the Administrative Bishop for the Church of God’s
North Central Region (North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana). He was appointed to this
position at the 2022 Church of God International General Assembly. Prior to coming to
Bismarck, he was the Director of Ministries for the Church of God in Virginia. In this role he
was responsible for a large portfolio that included ministerial development, pastoral
placement, campground development, and a number of other areas. Dr. Cary joined the
Virginia State Office executive leadership team in 2011 after serving in local church
ministry for 21 years (17 of those as a senior pastor). His vision for his ministry is to design
and deliver a message of delightful life that directs people to a decision for or a deeper
devotion to God and then to disciple people in the discovery, development and deployment
of their distinct spiritual gifts so the church can dynamically fulfill the Divine Commission.
Dr. Cary has earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree with an emphasis on Pastoral Leadership
from Pentecostal Theological Seminary. His dissertation work focused on the value of
providing a coach/mentor to first-time appointed senior pastors. He also earned a Master
of Arts in Church Ministry from Pentecostal Theological Seminary.
Dr. Cary and his wife, Wanda, have been partners in ministry since embarking upon their
ministerial career in 1990. Wanda presently serves as the Director of Women’s Ministries
for the Church of God in the North Central Region.
